April rains did not cause much of a riase on area rivers. Fishing in the Texas Hill Country has been very good overall despite the dry spring. Beginning May, the local rivers are still at a reasonable level with average flow. Water is generally normal clear. In bright sun you will need to polish your "stalking" skills and go a bit deeper to bag the smarter fish.Flies: You should be thinking "rubber legs" for May

- Guadalupe River look to the browns changing to olives toward the end of the month as temperatures warm.
Rumored Hotspots:
- Swimmers are not yet enjoying the cool low water crossings. So until then these areas can provide easy access and are usually productive. Give them a try before school's out.
